Meet Paul:

Paul Borup is a resident of Logan and a candidate to become the next Representative for District 3.  In 2017, he was elected to serve on the Cache County Council and served a full four-year term.  During his last year on the council, Paul was selected as the Vice-Chair.

Born in Logan, he attended Utah State University and completed graduate work at the University of South Carolina.  His professional career focuses on the risk management industry.  He has held roles ranging from Regional Financial Officer for a Fortune 100 company to Small Business Owner.

As a Councilman, Paul helped reduce regulations, encourage small business, improve transparency, modernize the budgeting process, and make major strides in transportation issues.  Most importantly, he was instrumental in successfully guiding Cache County through the COVID pandemic without resorting to burdensome mandates or closings.

During his term, Paul worked with entities including the Health Department and local non-profits to support them in their missions to improve the quality of life in Cache County.  He was intimately involved with navigating the changes in countywide ambulance service and waste management system and involved in creating new entities to address both issues going forward.

Paul served as a State Delegate for the Cache Republican Party and currently serves as secretary in his local precinct.

He been actively involved with community organizations including the Lions Club, Rotary International, Chamber of Commerce, and The Boy Scouts of America (as a Troop Leader and Eagle Scout).  Paul is an avid supporter of non-profit organizations, especially CAPSA and the Utah Festival Opera, that make our community such a special place.

Paul and his wife Beth have two children and are adjusting to being empty nesters.

Please reach out if you are a concerned citizen or if you’re interested in supporting Paul for the Utah House of Representatives.  He is always available to listen.  Paul can be reached at paul@electborup.com or (435) 999-4154.
